Bart Jansen

Dr. Bart Jansen is a legal philosopher affiliated with the University of Amsterdam, where he teaches Jurisprudence, with Nyenrode Business University, since 2023 with the Philosophy Department of New York University, and he holds adjunct professorships in Surabaya at the Airlangga University (Indonesia) and the Anton de Kom University (Suriname).

His research explores the intersections of law, ethics, and symbolic forms, with a focus on the juridification of business ethics, corporate governance, and the semiotics of legal systems. Drawing on political theology, aesthetics, and continental philosophy, he examines how law operates beyond formal institutions – culture, power, and language.
